The holiday season can be a stressful and overwhelming time. For students who struggle with transitions and breaks in their schedule, time off from school can be challenging. Holidays can be a time of unexpected events, activities, and experiences. Communities are crowded, there are lots of new or different lights, sounds, and smells, and our routines are often in disarray. How can we help our students or children during this time of change?
Visual stories provide clear, concise descriptions of events that help prepare students for situations they may encounter. In today’s post, I am sharing a simple visual story I wrote about winter break to help get my students ready for this change in schedule. Additionally, I have included a story about what to expect at a party.
